On 17 June 2026, Varna hosted the EIT Water Roadmap Session III – Education Track, organized by the EIT Water consortium and the Grundfos Foundation – PDJF, with the Maritime Cluster Bulgaria serving as the host of the event.
The event brought together more than 70 representatives from academia, business, the public sector, research organizations, students, and innovation experts from across Europe. The main focus was the development of education in the Water, Marine & Maritime (WMM) sectors.
The discussions focused on exchanging ideas and best practices for building a more integrated European educational ecosystem, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary skills, innovation, and stronger links between education and industry.
Special participation was contributed by representatives of the Technical University of Varna and the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, who supported discussions on the development of future professionals in the sector.
The event highlighted the need to connect and build upon existing successful educational and innovation systems across Europe.
